HSQTE Manager – Gisborne

This role is with an international company with a proven track record in delivering large scale infrastructure maintenance services. They administer roading networks, state highways and local roads in the Gisborne region

Their team is committed to delivering to a very standard, whilst providing outstanding customer service along the way.

The HSQTE Manager will lead the development, maintenance, auditing and reviewing of systems for the delivery team. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring personnel in providing a Safety, Environment and Quality function support service to the teams on the ground. This is a multifaceted role, delivering management professionalism, operational intuition and compliance administration.

We are looking for someone with outstanding communication and administrative skills, and the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively. You will have a strong desire to improve systems and to establish and maintain good working relationships with operational staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a solid working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Good initiative and judgement, alongside the willingness to learn and take on new ideas.
  • The ability to effectively utilise time and resources
  • A commitment to contribute positively and proactively to the team, demonstrating honesty, integrity, fairness and respect in your day to day work
  • Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external teams
  • A “can do” attitude
  • Roading and civil operational experience is preferred
