Planning Enforcement Officer
Hertfordshire
Up to £28,285 (dependent on experience)
Flexible and agile working
My client are a rural local government district and borough in Hertfordshire and, whilst a greenbelt area, they have in recent years urbanised and are part of the Greater London Urban Area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join a close-knit team and take on a broad scope of responsibility within an enforcement capacity in this Hertfordshire borough.
As part of a small planning team, this opportunity provides real scope for an individual to take on a pivotal role within compliance and enforcement, having a direct impact within the built environment within one of Greater London’s Urban areas, duties of the role include:
· Following up on complaints, investigating potential breaches of planning regulations and legislation, proposing solutions using formal enforcement action when appropriate
· Carrying out compliance inspections when appropriate of properties, ensuring that compliance within planning conditions are met within the brough
· Comprising reports and statements on investigations and planning related matters
· Improving compliance within the planning department and ensuring that duties are performed within Council’s policies
· Representing the council and Inquiries and Appeals when necessary
· Providing support to the planning function of the borough
This is an excellent opportunity within compliance to work in small team and play an influential role within enforcement in the borough. They offer a flexible and supportive working environment for the right candidate. This is a permanent role offering the subsequent benefits of working for a local authority.
Some of these benefits include: 22 days annual leave + bank holidays, rising with the length of service, Local Government pension scheme, Sedexo benefits scheme, cheap car loans, career breaks, free leisure centre memberships, etc.
