A leading European investment management platform is seeking an Associate Asset Manager to work on a pan-European fund, focused on value-add, retail lead assets. The position will focus on two projects in Germany so German language fluency and project experience is key.
The role, working across Europe, will have a broad range of responsibilities with likely activities ranging from assistance with underwriting assumptions on Investment and AM initiatives/ projects, to leasing activity, refurbishment and sales processes.
Furthermore, the Asset Manager will review and coordinate delivering asset management reports, taking responsibility for them.
Duties will also focus on overseeing the budgeting, planning and reporting process of the individual properties and portfolios.
The Associate – Asset Manager will advise and take responsibility of the portfolio on all relevant asset management related matters.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Portfolio management:
- Identify and work with local teams to implement both a core and a value-added a value-add strategy.
- Review of investment proposals for submission to investment committee.
- When relevant, manage approved transactions through to successful conclusion.
- Review annual business plan for each asset and portfolio, including key initiatives such as capital improvements, refurbishment budgets and leasing activity, from formulation of the plan through on-going monitoring with responsibility for budgetary control and asset level performance.
Asset Management reporting:
- Prepare (or assist in preparation of) selected required reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for investors and their consultants, liaising as appropriate with the local asset manager and the in-house accounting team.
Skills and personal attributes:
- Experience in retail sector is required.
- Experience in asset re-positioning.
- Numerical, with excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Fluent in English and German is required, a third language will be considered as an asset.
