Position: Senior Project Engineer
Location: South West England
Salary and package: up to 80,000 depending on experience with full package consisting of company car or car allowance, pension, private medical, holiday etc
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Engineer to work on one of Europe’s largest construction projects. With an estimated value in the billions, this is very much a once in a career opportunity. This is a stable and long-term project, approaching peak production phase. To be considered for the position of Senior Project Engineer, it is anticipated that you hold extensive and demonstrable experience in leading the technical delivery across significant RC Structures. This role would suit an experienced Section Engineer, Senior Engineer or Sub Agent who has a strong background in a Main Contractor.Your experience does not necessarily have to have been gained in the UK market. Key to our client is your knowledge of complex structures. It would be beneficial if you held IEng or CEng status with the ICE.
You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers (potentially up to eight) in the delivery of a structure or structures with values of up to £80m. You will ensure engineering, quality and technical compliance in line with the specification. These are no ordinary structures and rebar content will be around 400 kilos per m3 of concrete.
Core responsibilities will include:
– Provide engineering design support to Design Integration team in collaborative design process.- Promote and support the effective use of componentisation/ off-site/off-line manufacture to support programme.- Lead temporary works design function to support design integration and site deliver- Co-ordination of technical interface to procurement- Transfer of adopted method information into production teams.- Ensuring transfer of lessons learned and sharing of best practice from parent companies and the wider industry- Ensuring transfer of lessons learned and sharing of best practice from parent companies and the wider industry- Provide Leadership of Design Integration teams- Provide support and oversight across areas of technical specialism- Liaise with functions to support effective and integrate- Support to development and implementation, in liaison with QA team, robust engineering delivery framework: · Governance and assurance · Processes and procedures
· Training/competence
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you:-Ideally hold at least 8 years+ experience in heavy civil engineering projects-Have very strong experience in building reinforced concrete structures.-Be experienced in managing sub-contractor delivered scope as well as directly delivered works-Experience of managing multi-level engineering teams in project environments
-Hold a degree or Masters in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
