Our client, a specialist real estate business with an actively managed portfolio of properties, is seeking a Property Tax Manager to join their team. The firm has properties worth over £12bn across Central London and the UK including commercial and residential properties.

Joining the team in London, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for all tax compliance for the group and will provide advice and guidance on all matters relating to property VAT and CIS.

Responsibilities:

· Provide technical VAT advice to internal and external contacts

· Complete and file statutory VAT returns for the group

· Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with VAT regulations

· Register group VAT entities and maintain on-line records, including a database of VAT opted properties

· Ensure appropriate records are maintained to allow value to be derived from capital allowances

· For joint venture entities, liaise with external tax accountants and ensure submission of corporation and partnership tax returns

Requirements:

· Appropriate technical qualifications or equivalent experience

· Working knowledge of property related tax matters, especially VAT

· Previous experience of completion and filing of VAT, CIS and Corporation Tax returns

· Working knowledge of PAYE

· Previous experience of working with fully integrated finance systems
