Our client is a global asset manager focused on property, renewable power and infrastructure assets with assets under management exceeding several hundred billion US Dollars.

JOB PURPOSE

The role will be responsible for providing analytical support in ensuring all tax matters are appropriately addressed, including tax compliance, tax structuring, tax due diligence for the corporate entities, as well as operating companies across the Group in Asia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Review of tax provision packages, deferred taxes, tax accounting figures and tax disclosures

Monitor applicable transfer pricing policies and related documentation

Provide analytical support on all transactions in Asia

o Due diligence

o Structuring

o Internal M&A and corporate restructuring projects

Assist and/or manage existing investments and platform initiatives in Asia from a tax perspective

Assist and/or manage implementations of tax planning projects and the integration of target companies into the Group’s tax operations and processes. Coordinate transactions and operational matters across business functions (Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Finance, Compliance, Corporate Secretarial & Business Operations)

Monitor changes in tax laws that may impact the Group’s tax positions, including tax accounting implications in Asia

Manage external tax advisors

Manage inquiries and audits by tax authorities

Develop good working relationships with team members

Foster a culture of operational excellence

Assist and/or work on corporate projects, as required, from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Recognised University Degree in a related field

Position requires an individual with a minimum of 5 years of cross-border M&A tax experience in the region

Ability to understand complex legal structures, regulations and apply judgement on funds structuring

Understanding of cross-border tax issues (particularly India, Singapore, China)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum of 5 years of cross-border M&A tax experience in Singapore

4 to 6 years’ Big 4 accounting/tax firm experience

Familiar with tax return computations and tax provision reporting

Technically strong in tax structuring and tax exemptions in the funds management industry
