Technical Engineer | Residential Developer | West Yorkshire
I am currently working on behalf of a residential developer based in West Yorkshire.
My client is looking for a Technical Engineer to work on a variety of projects across West Yorkshire.
Duties
– Discussing requirements with the client, adopting authority and other professionals (e.g architects).
– Analysing survey, mapping and materials-testing data by hand or with computer modelling software. Drawing up concept designs produced at land appraisal stage, using computer aided design (cad) packages. Preparing designs for roads and sewers construction/ adoption and external works levels and liaising with others for the design of foundations, structural elements and larger retaining structures.
– Judging whether projects or proposed solutions are workable by assessing materials, costs and time requirements against budget. They will also co-ordinate the preparation of detailed remediation strategies taking them through to approval, including overseeing validation of the works on site. Liaison with statutory bodies, authorities and service utility providers and liaison with the LABC, NHBC and L.A on engineering matters taking them through to approval.
– Assessing the environmental impact and risks connected to projects. Preparing documents for supply chain tenders, and reporting to internal clients, public agencies and planning bodies.
– Involvement with project teams involved in directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project.
– Making sure sites meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements. Co-ordination of drawing issues and file management.
– Working with others to secure the earliest possible adoption/handover of roads, sewers and open space.
What my client is looking for:
– Suitable engineering degree or similar qualification in Civil Engineering, suitable experience of work within or for the house building industry on residential type projects with similar residential scale infrastructure.
– Autocad and microdrainage skills
– Based out of the office in Leeds, West Yorkshire. You will need to drive to sites around the Yorkshire region.
Salary/Benefits Package:
Anticipated salary £35k-45k BUT dependent on applicant plus package including company car.
