Finance Director

Commercial Real Estate

Due to their continued growth in both London and Europe, our client, a commercial real estate investor, is looking for an experienced finance leader to oversee all operational and finance matters. As a key advisor to the managing partners, this position will be responsible for improving and developing operational infrastructure, financial control and supporting commercial growth.

The team has more than 20 years experience on average, and have extensive networks in the UK property market, particularly in the larger property companies, funds and developers. The company has managed funds of more than £4 billion so far, and has executed transactions in excess of £2 billion in it’s relatively young history.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Management & Planning

  • Oversight of management and financial reporting including the development and production of regular financial MI, plans and forecasts for management purposes and board level reporting
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls in line with the growth of the business
  • Coordination and process management of monthly Management Board meetings and quarterly Advisory Board meetings
  • Oversight of loan compliance and reporting
  • Investor reporting oversight and quality control
  • Directly manage the activity and development of the Financial Controller

Operations & Compliance

  • Overall responsibility for compliance, managing FCA regulation application process and all FCA compliance
  • Improving the process infrastructure across the business to enable the business to grow significantly in the medium term, and develop such infrastructure over time
  • Primary liaison with external auditors

Commercial

  • New loan transaction management & responsibility for all loans administration
  • Opportunity to become responsible for management of all transaction processes, live transaction reporting and tracking
  • Management of relationships with debt and equity provider

Person Specification

  • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification
  • Strong understanding of Real Estate investment and transactions experience
  • Familiarity with establishing financial operations working with businesses that operate in a high growth phase
  • A history of strong advisory relationships with senior management based on expertise, direct and open communication
  • Ability to deal with complex changes in legal, regulatory and financial frameworks
  • Confident at managing external investor relations, board members and institutional relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analysis and financial skills, and good business sense
