Stride Property Group (Stride), one of New Zealand’s leading listed property companies, is recruiting for a General Manager – Development, a highly important role for the delivery of strategy for this business.

Stride manages one of New Zealand’s largest diversified investment property portfolios with over $2 billion of commercial office, retail and industrial properties including the recently developed $175 million NorthWest Shopping Centre in Auckland.

The General Manager – Development role will be responsible for leading and further expanding the overall development management function and capability in line with strategic priorities to enable high quality retail, commercial, industrial and mixed use projects.

This will require front end development opportunity origination and feasibility assessment through to achieving investment approval from the board and overall responsibility for the delivery of the projects. It’s critical therefore that interested candidates have a proven track record in sourcing and converting large scale development investment opportunities in a lead capacity.

Further skills and attributes required for this role include the following;

• Relevant experience within the property/real estate industry, ideally a minimum of 10 + years in a senior development position• Proven management and delivery of project outcomes and leasing arrangements • Commercial management experience and approach • A qualification in property/business, or another relevant field i.e. Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture• Proven experience in negotiation and conflict management• Seismic/remediation experience would be an advantage• Proven ability to write high quality commercial and contractual letters and reports• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project

• Proven ability to manage staff effectively
