Cobalt are working with one of the leading Real Estate Investment Managers in a search for a Head of Fund Accounting to oversee a team whose scope of funds covers a Pan-European Investment Platform with AUM of £9Bn+

This role reports directly into the CFO and will be responsible for the management of 8 Qualified Fund Accountants/Controllers, as well as the outsourced service providers across the UK and Europe

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of fund finance function engagement with the wider business in respect of performance reporting, budgets, debt monitoring and other financial matters
  • Provide transactional support to UK investments within the pan European fund via SPVs
  • Monitor and oversee outsourced accounting teams, and drive improvements in quality, consistency and accuracy for their reporting
  • Drive quality improvements and accuracy for reporting and look to make continual improvements
  • Strategic planning with the other business areas in order to allocate resource and responsibilities across the EMEA
  • Aid the professional development of the team and be involved in new pitches and onboarding

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified, having ideally trained with a top tier audit firm
  • Relevant PQE and knowledge within Real Estate is essential, exposure to Pan-European investments is desirable
  • Proven ability to manage and develop others in current/most recent role
  • Ability to lead and show knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS within the Real Estate sector
  • Pro-active in approach with a desire to expand your remit and progress
