Position: International Development Director – Civil Engineering
Location: UK based with extensive international travel
Remuneration: 100,000 – 150,000 DOE with bonus, car allowance, private medical (family cover), pension, holiday etc
An ambitious and entrepreneurial privately-owned civil engineering Contractor is seeking to attract an International Development Director to their organisation.
This newly created role is deemed business critical. You will play a key part in helping the organisation to meet or exceed their future profitable growth targets. You will also help in further strengthening their already impressive track record in international project delivery.
As Development Director you will be responsible for identifying specific project targets and opportunities in overseas countries. You will develop relationships with Central Government and Ministries, international finance houses and UK Export Financing to ensure that a viable project proposal is developed and funding to construct is secured.
Initially the focus would be around the Aviation sector, with a view to expanding out into the wider infrastructure market in the next 3 – 5 years.
Responsibilities will include:-Identify specific targets and opportunities-Source new leads suited to the growth strategy and strengths of the business-Lead in initial engagement with new clients-Lead and coordinate preparation of project proposals-Constantly asses and develop the business growth strategy, considering local political and economic conditions-Develop strong working relationships with the key internal stakeholders, for example operations and commercial
-Undertake market evaluation, identifying medium to long term targets
To be considered for this role it is anticipated that you will:-Hold extensive construction / civil engineering sector experience-Ideally hold a Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Commercial or Engineering)-Have a demonstrable track record in developing international infrastructure projects working with UKEF-Be self-motivated and used to working remotely – you will be responsible for managing your own workload-Be prepared to travel extensively, the world is your Client!-Have a developed understanding of the international Infrastructure funding structures-Be commercially astute with a strong focus on effective risk and opportunity management
-Hold excellent IT skills particularly around the MS package, particularly PowerPoint
