An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Planner to join an innovative public and private partnership in London. My client has successfully provided a range of property and development services for various local authorities and private organisations. The particular London Borough has benefited immensely from the joint venture – internal development and advisory services have improved and a substantial saving has been made and will continue to do so over the coming years.

Joining my client will give you the opportunity to take the lead on a number of major planning applications for developments across London; you will be expected to work at times with minimal supervision and provide support for junior members in the team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Management of complex major planning applications.
  • Lead S106 negotiations.
  • Managing conflict between various stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government departments and regional bodies.
  • Organising and attending meetings with council committees.
  • Using technical knowledge of strategic planning and development management.

Ideally, the appointed Principal Planner will be a chartered member of the RTPI however this is not essential. It is important to my client that all candidates have worked within either a consultancy or a local authority and must have experience handling major planning applications.
