Property Service Charge Accountant

Our Client is a multidisciplinary property practice based in Cambridge and is looking for someone to maintain the accuracy and integrity of their portfolio of properties accounting records. They are one of the UK’s leading providers of property management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the year end accounts including the allocation of costs.
  • Ensure that rents, service charge, direct recovery are issued on time.
  • Prepare Extended Trial Balance.
  • Organise the audit and post audit journals and respond to enquiries.
  • Distribution of final accounts.
  • Prepare the VAT returns when applicable.
  • Prepare the budget templates and ensure they are uploaded onto the system correctly.
  • Prepare and control void service charges.
  • Manage service charge demands and adhere to ad-hoc costs to tenants when required.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage the outstanding creditors daily.

Personal Qualities

  • Qualified (AAT or studying towards CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience
  • Systems accounting knowledge. Tramps, Yardi, MRI, ecs (Qube)
  • Property experience
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Good level of written and verbal communication
