Position: Section Engineer
Location: Initially Buckinghamshire,
Remuneration: 38,000 – 45,000 with strong benefits package including private medical, DC pension, 25 days holiday, strong car allowance, tax free lodge allowance etc

Due to the securing of a new project, a privately-owned Principal Contractor is seeking to attract a Section Engineer to their team. You will be responsible for leading the engineering function on a £20m civil engineering project with three direct reports. You will oversee the safe delivery of all works, planning and progress, commercial reconciliation and implementation of quality management,

Our Client is open in considering established Section Engineers or aspiring Site Engineers looking to step into a Section Engineer role.

What you’ll be doing-Safe delivery of works within section-Leadership of site health and safety, ensuring sectional compliance and site wide awareness-Preparation and continuous monitoring of Safe Systems of Work including; Risk Assessments, Method Statement, Permits to Work-Planning works including; resourced 3 week look ahead programmes, contribution to planning and progress of main programme, organising resources for work, organising subcontractors and timely execution of works, ordering materials, monitoring stocks-Commercial reconciliation of works-Detailed record keeping, site diaries, resource allocations, change reporting-Management and organisation of site engineers and setting out teams-Implementation and compliance of Quality Management System-Weekly and monthly site reports-Management of electronic site records within company document management system-Deputise for Site Agent if required

-Any other reasonable duties as required

What you’ll need?-A degree, HND or HNC (equivalent) in civil engineering-Minimum of 2 years site-based experience as a site engineer for a Principal Contractor-Experience in earthworks, drainage, paving and surfacing-Experience in self delivery and commercial awareness of this – understanding the value of work-Ability to communicate with site team, site management and clients-Ability to challenge others when necessary-Prepared to work internationally, work in remote locations and travel-Full driving licence
