Our client is a leading global property developer with extensive presence throughout Asia. They operate across all asset classes focusing on creating vibrant residential communities, conducive workplaces and exciting retail destinations. There is an existing need to hire a General Manager to run one of their prime shopping malls in the heart of the city.
The General Manager will be responsible for the following:
• Lead the centre management team and overseeing A&P, leasing and operations • Manage the asset infrastructure, centre standards and presentation • Risk management • Implement strategies to achieve mall performance • Manage operational and capital budgets • Management of financial assets and forecasting • Management reporting • Strategic marketing and asset positioning
• Manage stakeholder relationships: internal, external, retailers and owners
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
• Degree/Diploma in Real Estate or a relevant discipline • Minimum 8 years’ experience in shopping centre management with retail knowledge and good understanding of retail and commercial property management • Financial Management skills to prepare, report and manage budgets for owners and retailers and able to analyse inter-relationships of all financial issues to ensure maximum returns for the owners • Excellent people management skills with people leadership and the ability to manage and develop the skills and aspirations of people to meet the needs of the business • Excellent communication and written skills to be used in negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution • A thorough retail knowledge and understanding of retail issues (eg. profit margins, occupancy costs, expenses and finance) • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to develop and motivate the team • Excellent communication and presentation skills
